Formula GT Challenge unveils 2026 calendar
Following a successful debut season, Formula GT Challenge is now ready to reveal its 2026 calendar. The series’ second season will not only feature an increased number of race weekends, breaking with the traditional way of running a championship – it will also evolve into a truly Scandinavian series, with rounds held at racing circuits in Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
“We are excited to present a 2026 calendar that offers even more challenging races – now on circuits in all three Scandinavian countries. There is strong interest from new participants, and with a programme that includes several exciting new elements, the stage is set for a spectacular season of Formula GT Challenge, both for fans and competitors,” says Race Promoter at Formula Automobile, Chresten Hansen.
“Formula GT Challenge is built around a shared passion for Ferrari and a strong sense of community within motorsport. We can look back on a very successful debut season with as many as 21 participants on the grid. With the new initiatives in place, we look forward to welcoming even more competitors in 2026,” adds Race Executive at Formula Automobile, Thor Qualmann.
Round 1+2: Anderstorp Raceway (Sweden) – May 1–3
The 2026 edition of Formula GT Challenge kicks off at the legendary Anderstorp Raceway, which was a regular venue on the Formula 1 calendar in the 1970s and later hosted the FIA GT Championship during the 2000s. Today, the circuit remains Scandinavia’s longest racetrack at more than four kilometres in length, with a layout that suits fast GT cars perfectly. With four practice sessions on Friday and races on both Saturday and Sunday, competitors will enjoy plenty of track time – the ideal start to the season.
Round 3: FDM Jyllandsringen (Denmark) – May 30
As a new feature, the third round of the championship will be held in conjunction with the now traditional and legendary annual track day event organised by My Garage at FDM Jyllandsringen. Practice and races will take place on the same day, creating an intense and action-packed schedule – once again with plenty of track time.
Round 4: Rudskogen Motorsenter (Norway) – August 15–16
In 2026, Rudskogen Motorsenter will host the inaugural Formula Racing Days – a full-scale Ferrari festival held at the impressive Norwegian facility, which meets international standards. The weekend will feature practice on Saturday and races on Sunday, while the breaks will be filled with entertainment as some of Ferrari’s most spectacular road and racing cars are unleashed on the circuit. Once again, a weekend offering extensive track time for the competitors – this time on an especially demanding circuit.
Round 5: FDM Jyllandsringen (Denmark) – September 26–27
The 2026 season of Formula GT Challenge will once again conclude alongside the Danish Championship Final at FDM Jyllandsringen, where the title winners will be crowned. In 2026, the series will once again feature – in addition to the overall championship, Trofeo Pirelli, which includes all car models – a dedicated class known as Coppa Formula. This class is reserved for 488 Challenge models and older Challenge versions, and a strong field of competitors is expected.
