Formula Racing returns to Ferrari Challenge

Our Formula Racing drivers, engineers, technicians and crew members are eager to return to the paddock after a (much too) long winter break. This season we will visit seven different tracks – from Portimão in the west to the Hungaroring in the east – and the absolute highlight will be Le Mans during the 24-hour race week, where we will compete in front of a huge crowd.

“We can’t wait to get the horses out of the garage. It’s always exciting to kick off a new championship, and our drivers have arrived well prepared and are looking forward to getting behind the wheel of their 296 Challenge racers to fight for points and trophies,” says Race & Event Executive at Formula, Thor Qualmann.

At Paul Ricard this weekend, nine drivers will compete for Formula Racing across three different categories. In the Pirelli Am class, the Danish brothers Anders and Jacob Bidstrup will line up alongside Japan’s Nobuhiro Imada. Multiple Ferrari Challenge trophy winner Henrik Kamstrup (Denmark) will chase the title in the Shell Am class, where Nobuhiro Imada (Japan) and Charles Chans (Hong Kong) will also compete.

Our former champion Eric Cheung (Canada) is making a comeback this season, lining up for another title challenge in the Shell class together with Japan’s Ken Abe. More than fifty drivers are entered for the season opener on the 5.842-kilometre Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet. Ready, set, go!
