Formula Racing heads for an exciting weekend at Le Mans
Formula Racing has arrived at one of the most iconic venues in world motorsport as round four of the Ferrari Challenge Europe season takes place at the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe – better known simply as Le Mans!
As part of the build-up to the world-famous 24 French classic, Ferrari Challenge competitors will once again get the opportunity to race on the legendary iconic circuit. This year’s event features two sprint races instead of the traditional single race, giving drivers two opportunities to fight for championship points on motorsport’s biggest stage.
“There is no doubt that this is the highlight of the season. We’ve been looking forward to it, and so have the drivers. Le Mans is the most famous race track in the world, the longest circuit on our calendar and also the event with the largest crowd. It’s a challenging weekend, with a lot to learn in a very short amount of time before the racing begins,” says Thor Qualmann, Race & Event Executive at Formula Racing.
Formula Racing is represented by eight drivers at Le Mans. In the Pirelli Am class, Danish brothers Anders – who arrives at Le Mans with strong momentum after securing his maiden Ferrari Challenge victory in the previous round in Austria – and Jacob Bidstrup are joined by Japan’s Nobuhiro Imada as well as newcomers Enzo Ide from Belgium and Blake McDonald from the United States.
The Shell Am class features Japan’s Masaru Yoneda and Denmark’s Henrik Kamstrup, who celebrated a podium finish at Le Mans with a strong second-place result in 2023. In Coppa Shell, Canada’s Eric Cheung continues his campaign after an impressive start to the season.
